Nice job there.
We used to just use gas and a socket. Then air line to chill once new dropped into place.

I started on some qctp blocks for the S&B lathe. I did video it but the Chromebook doesn't like the card it seems
So a picture will have to suffice of the first operation! A really nice finish with no chatter @Barking Mat

Its certainly slow going taking out the radius on the edges, especially as I know not what I’m doing.
The side only half done is with a conventional cutter and I got what amadeal calls a roughing shell mill. It is definitely a rough finish and there is some play and chatter, I think although I locked the y axis. It’s probably a bit big for my mill but I think I’ve found a Centec 2B.
Also had to make a fixture plate out of some 10mm plate and dowel pins as it’s too long to do in one go.

It looks good to me! I had to tighten up my gibs on the Y axis as I got some chatter on a previous job. Mine is a Centec 2b and I can recommend one thoroughly! It handles a .300" wide cutter at .200" deep cut with no problem. The picture above is a .020" cut at .300" wide on the arbour. I don't have any shell mills (at present!) but will remedy that shortly

My Centec is the bench type but the previous owner fitted it onto a standard mill base. I have a single phase motor fitted fortunately. I would remake or repair the c spanner nuts as you are fighting that. I lock the other axis and as there is some wear on X I add a bit of drag with the X lock whilst in the middle part of the table. Here is a pic of mine sat on its modern plinth.

A friend of mine now too ill to be stood in a cold shed unfortunately. Very well looked after but I can’t remember if it’s a small Elliott or a Tom senior. It’s 30 INT taper so very rigid for a small machine.
