I have sold off quite a lot over the last year or so, basically duplicates and all the imperial micrometers I had.

An interesting thing about the Mitutoyo 0.0001" clock.
If you notice the small hand is past the 5 but when you move the gauge it turns anti clock and goes to 0, not something I have seen before, at first I thought the hand had been placed wrongly.

I removed the back from that torque gauge you sent me.

There is a spring in it like a clock spring, it's having issues, that's as far as I got, then I reassembled it, I was 'child sitting'.

I’d have to agree with you now, the welding wasn’t a big deal but a couple of week ago the rack dumped all its fluid so the cars up on stands waiting for me to be bothered to fit a reconditioned unit... add to that a clutch kit while I’m there, new brake pipes all round and a couple of lower arms it’ll be almost a new car!!!

I’d have to agree with you now, the welding wasn’t a big deal but a couple of week ago the rack dumped all its fluid so the cars up on stands waiting for me to be bothered to fit a reconditioned unit... add to that a clutch kit while I’m there, new brake pipes all round and a couple of lower arms it’ll be almost a new car!!!

If you buy from a reputable seller you should be fine.
My non digital stuff is old and second hand so not likely to be knock offs.
I was lucky with most of my digital stuff, most I paid was just over £100, I think, for the 50-75 micorometer but I knew the seller was reputable, sadly I have lost touch with him

As Brad says, if it's brand new on eBay and it's thirty quid, it's a fake.

The main problem I found with my bangood micrometers was that the faces of the anvils were not parallel, fine if you were measuring a squarish thing but no good on a round. The benefit of the expensive ones I bought were the faces were parallel.

And as for that Mr @Hood , I asked him to split a load of M&W which he didn't, and before he slung them in freebies, he asked me if I wanted them, if I sent a courrier to collect them.

So I've even more turning up soon..
