Best place to get a new DPF from. The one on our L200, has just gone up in smoke!
16 plate L200, 70k miles, no other faults. The best place to get parts for any motor vehicle will be the original manufactureres (the dealers).
But as you can already guess - this will be expensive.
Pattern parts are cheaper - but normally inferior.
The bigger question is: Why has the DPF failed? What age/mileage is the vehicle? Does it have other faults?
Not one to start an arguement with should/shouldn't so take this with a pinch of salt,
If for "off road use"
How about removing it and mapping it out?
Has it gone on fire, or just something stuck to it and gone on fire?16 plate L200, 70k miles, no other faults.
DPF was on fire apparently, I never saw it and I haven’t looked under the truck yet. There are rumours going round the town about bad fuel causing problems for a few diesel owners.
Guessed main dealers would be the best but not cheapest option

During regen, they can reach over 600degC, and put out quite a bit of smoke.
I wouldn't necessarily be changing it, unless it's actually failed, such as the core has broken up and not regenning, which would result in a few fault codes stored, or there is now soot coming out the tail pipe.
non branded fuel?
ininky run bp or shell
if it was on fire how did the truck survive, they are pretty close to the floor with a tin thin heat shield, obviously internal fire ,but I thought thats how they work more or less..16 plate L200, 70k miles, no other faults.

Not sure what fuel they sell
Hole burnt and poked at I would guess. Water was used to extinguish the flames. The truck itself is untouched by the flames. Looks like it had pin holes before yesterday’s events.
