The balloon attachment would be handy, as 3 years ago I asked on here for help in fixing my dead one. But since then I have lost/lebt/ loaned bu helium bottle.

The ring spanner is shinny, so I keep it.

I tried all the usual suspects, some would even allow you to place an order with est delivery in June, a couple had the full set but I have batteries and chargers and 500 was a bit much for a small nail gun.

I have the green thing now it won't get loads of work and if it lasts the warranty then it will be fine, if it's crap I will get a milwaukee in summer when wife forgot I already have one

if all you wanted was flying metal at high speed you could have just put a poundland wire wool in a drill chuck it would just about produce the same out come on what you are using it on but at lower cost and still have metal flying ever where

Today I acquired a 2 1/2 lb sculptors hammer, which I'm going to modify into a blacksmithing hammer with a diagonal peen on one side. I've marked it out and have a bit of grinding to do.

if all you wanted was flying metal at high speed you could have just put a poundland wire wool in a drill chuck it would just about produce the same out come on what you are using it on but at lower cost and still have metal flying ever where

I have had more joy with them than some expensive ones.
I have yet to see the advantage of that.

Forgot to say, I got two high pressure Stirrup pums for pumping PCP rifles up!

Got them from Amazon, One was £4.89. The other was £4.49- That's posted!! I can't see how anyone couild make money on them as the delivery must be a fiver!!

There's no water traps with them but they can be had off fleabay for eight quid!, They actually have a built in water jacket for cooling and come with a spare set of seals!!

They do or did until recently, my lad came home from school with about six inches of cable attached to a 13A plug, would have been about eight years ago, he is about to do his A levels this year.

Hope the fuse was not in it.
Seriously how many of us chop plugs off dead stuff but still leave the fuse in the plug ?
I caught my 8 yr old pushing a plugged cut off lead into the garage system pretending to be an electrician some 40 years ago .....yes , the fuse was still in the plug . Ever since they've always been taken out 7 the fuse carrier taped in place to stop losing it .

My dad showed me too... but it seems that there's already a generation or two out there without any idea of how to wire a plug, so it would make sense that learning in a a controlled environment would be better.
I mean, really people should be taught at school how the earthing system and RCD protection works. It took me long enough to really get it, and that was with a year of electrical shop fridays in college!! Simply because we were taught "it's this colour and it keeps you safe". Well these days, RCDs and earthing work in tandem, far safer than earthing alone.

I disagree with the liability, too. We were taught how to operate a 300 degrees C gas oven at school. Plenty ways to kill yourself that way as well.

I'd argue that it's by and large safer than ever to make electrical mistakes, in general - if I made a dead shorted plug and switched it on in any modern house, it would just trip the breaker or RCD. Only way it would kill me directly is if I moistened my hands and held blue wire in one hand, brown wire in t'other... I'm oversimplifying, but you get my point?

People just want to avoid the problem rather than solving it IMO...

and idiots don't help the cause, unfortunately a "certified" electrician wired in some 3 phase motors for a project recently. We came to switch them on, and tripped the overloads on all 3 motors. Turned out he'd connected the wires to the wrong 3 terminals, which were connected together in Star configuration. Blatently obvious... but you can't fix stupid

Back in 1978 I had the misfortune to have to take on two brand spanking new diesel fired trailer mounted portable hot water boilers for decontamination /shower units out in the field, made with ME boilers from Peterborough . I sat and read the hand book for them many times to get familiar with everything but couldn't get them running . This meant two bits of £ 260k gear each being totally useless .

With the help of a pal who was in the Royal Signals & his CO's permission we traced every single wire drawing up a full schematic diagram for them . Disconnecting and metering each cable /wire just incase there was a direct short for some reason or other as well as proving each sensor etc . etc.
After several hours we came to the mains genny powered socket lead & master trips . Someone in the factory had only tied an extra earth wire coloured blue to the neutral on the equipment side of the switch .

Went to the tip and was talking to the skip man woman came up with a power wash and said did the lads want a power wash, the lad said no, he had one, (from the skips) cant do that now!
So I said to her why, she said oh we bought this to wash the patio that done we getting rid!! I said I'll have it if that is ok, Skip man said you will have exchange OUTSIDE of the yard as it is stealing! from the council ! if inside the yd went to the car and she said do you want the hoslock hose reel as well coz that was going in the skip also!!
I could not believe that people would buy something to do one job and skip it .

We oldies get blamed for the state of the planet yet it is us who recycle, reuse and repurpose things the most. Just recently I've acquired a B&Q 10in. table saw that just needed a few bits repaired to get it working. A big retractable airline wall mounting reel. A mitre saw that was actually a router table with the router still in it. Nu Tool, but who cares. A new Henry Hoover , as it was "in the way." A Rexon pillar drill and scroll saw, AND a brand new Ferrex 8 inch planer thicknesser, still in the box. A roll of roofing felt. Al will be used and it's saved some landfill. Also rescued a load of 2x4 that was destined for the dump and will be put through the planer thicknesser now.nobody seems to repair anything these days. I've just "rescued" a set of 34 kart transponders that had been damaged by a faulty charger. Cost to replace £6,800. Cost to repair, virtually zero as I used an old laptop charger and just changed the output plug. Use a motorcycle battery to "blip" each battery that had gone a bit negative in the transponders. All now working perfectly and I may be owed a big favour now.

The van has a CD player and the facility to plug in MP3 player and USB memory stick; load up with what you like and away you go. Voice commands as well: say 'Play Led Zeppelin' or 'Play Stairway to Heaven' and it does
Traffic announcements are sometimes useful but my satnav has live traffic updates anyway. May as well use the useful bits of technology, but radio... nah

Got to agree about the radio or wireless as I know it. The majority of stations play music that just puts you in a bad mood with the "rhythm" and the lyrics are indistinguishable. I nearly booted the workshop wireless the other day when every station was playing some form of rap music.
