I bought some from https://www.18650.uk/ that I was happy with. Where tags have not been available, I have soldered to the cell, but there is a knack to it.
I think it's because of the postal regulations - IIRC you can send lithium batteries "in" something, but it's much harder to send batteries on their own.You have to buy them with something else

thanks for the offer,I have a few cells that I’ve nicked out of old laptop batteries. I have absolutely no idea what the discharge current is likely to be, but you're welcome to try a couple of you like.
Im after a single 18650 battery, Im fed up of trying to look though spec sheets. although Im only after a continuous discharge current of 4 amps, Im needing it to remain over 3.3V for as long as possible (20-30 minutes), so Im thinking of one with a 20 or 25A discharge to keep the internal resistance down (and keep the voltage under load up).
anyone able to recommend one that's suitable?
