two new taps for my Cornie kegs

this is my existing tap, it is pretty simple, ideal for low carbonated ales,

it has a sparkler that allows low fizz but a nice tight head

But I had difficulty finding similar taps. Most seem to be geared to control froth on highly carbonated beer like this compensator tap, not my style. I hate burpy fizz,

So I took a punt on two of these taps second hand, which probably dispensed creamflow nitrogen/CO2 mix beers/

I hoped I could replace the nozzle with a sparkler. Here's the existing nozzle with plastic insert on the new tap

it looked like a standard sparkler thread

Yippee it is.

I'll test it first, if it does what I want I will find a couple of SS sparklers and install the taps.

Got these the other day. Only cheapies, so I've yet to see how good/bad they are, but for what they cost, no big thing if they turn out to be crap.

Hopefully, they'll save me constantly digging through tubs to find a piece of suitably ground HSS.

I sold a kerosene Blow torch to a friend as a desk tidy/trendy desk talking point..

Some one he knew liked it, through MIS. So Tim sold it/swopped it for some computer help.

Who wanted to get it working, I had passed it on as it was not possible, then.

Tim's friend, John tried (john is a member off my MIS who does clocks repairs.)

He gave up.

He passed to Dave, who tried.

Who passed it back to me.

Quite impressed. Just given one a whirl, to take a section of rod from ¾" down to ½" over a 1" or 2" section, & it did it perfectly. Took a couple of tentative passes to start with, to test, then just oiked the rest off in a couple more passes.
