Soldering iron tip cleaner arrived...tiny little pot for £10.
I have to say it's bloomin worth it...I want from a carbon covered burned tip to a lovely tinned tip in 2 seconds...amazing stuff.

I know....when it arrived I was very annoyed as I didn't check and thought I was getting a tub of the stuff!!£10
But then I tried it....it bloomin does exactly what it says on the tin! No idea how it works...it's like flux mixed with powdered solder or something. Stick the iron in and it comes out perfectly tinned. I was trying for ages to restore the tip so this was my last attempt. Going to save a lot of swearing....no idea if it can be had for cheaper elsewhere...probably...but I'm happy with how it works
The tip was as burned as the rest of it....no matter what I did it just wouldn't tin properly. This is a single 2 second dip...I'm amazed....how have I never heard of this stuff before!

A new de-rusting tank just dragged from a skip. No damage to it and a very useful 26" x 17" x 11" - a perfect size for vices.
I had to liberate a TK Max plastic box.

Following on from the discussion in the ale pump thread, I got some gas. 
I asked my friendly coffee roaster (And avid homebrewer) who he uses for gas, gave them a ring and got by far the best deal I'd found. £50 deposit on the cylinder, £16.20 for the gas, no rental, no environmental surcharge, delivered the next day for free. Can't believe I was debating BOC and Sodastream!
Is it normal for CO2 to have a male thread on the cylinder? I've only ever seen female threads on the bottle and a bullnose on the reg.
@hotponyshoes Was Air Liquide the supplier you were thinking of? Evidently that's where this is from.
EDIT: Got a question about regulators. Welding ones seem to start around the thirty pound mark and beer ones are more like eighty quid and up. Is there a difference? I know beer ones will vent gas from the keg if you turn the pressure up and then back down, I'm pretty sure my argon reg won't do that.
EDIT 2; another reg question; Why do they have two gauges? I thought CO2 was stored as a liquid so the bottle gauge will only vary with temperature until it's almost completely empty?
