Hopefully this will sort out the carburetion problems on my scooter

Make sure you always use the basket. They go pop if you put in a heavy item whilst it is running without the basket. Ask me how I know.

I was a little sceptical also, and pulled the tape to check it when I got outside the shop; then went back in and bought another two.

I think I might be checking them against a known tape/rule, both inside and outside. Had a few cheap ones that measured to builders tolerances . . .

Transducers attached to bottom of tank - simply put, they vibrate the bottom of the tank - stop the bottom of the tank vibrating, and they vibrate themselves apart or off the tank.
Similarly don't run it empty of liquid - it'll either fatigue the tank, or get all over-excited and shake the transducers apart.

New gold C pillars for the forester from a wreckers, and a replacement tailgate, along with smooth lower door panels. Took me a while to refit them, very pleasant way to spend the afternoon.

Marked JB and 28 lbs., it actually weighs thirty one pounds. There's some rust but it appears unused, as I can't see any hammer marks on the surface or edges. 315 mm long, 67 mm wide, 65mm high, its a good size for a bench top anvil. The bubble wrap to protect it during shipping was a nice touch but had me laughing.

I've got a nice 10 litre one that I don't want to bin that was playing up for a while then stopped working, but the price of new ones is now much lower than when I bought it....
My wife has just asked if I can clean her necklace but it's the chain that's rusted so not really going to work, could I get away with buying her a new silver chain and say I needed to get a new 10/15 litre maching to do it with

Would it be worth fitting 4 new transducers from Ebay or buying a new one???

Work is underway on a new garage, so builders tolerances are fine for my purpose. Even with reasonable care a tape doesn't last long doing ground and blockwork. The tape rusts and the mechanism wears out in no time, so the ones from the Pound Shop are a bargain for doing rough work.

I've always admired to full screw-on style American guard, compared to the UK style of just a ring guard, or worse, nothing at all. How can we English, who are so safety-conscious and complain-y, just put up with British Oxygen Company's crappy unguarded cylinders? They're an accident waiting to happen.
I notice sometimes on my Dixons cylinders, the hand ring guard is sometimes dented/bent, so accidents do happen...

It’s a lovely piece and should work fine for small stuff like you say. Is it one piece cast or has it got a fire welded top?

Not sure as there's quite a bit of surface rust, but I'll tackle it tomorrow and post a photo when its cleaned up..

This starrett dial indicator. Needs a bit of work but it is in good condition just sticky and missing the contact tip/probe/stylus whatever they’re called

That is an unusual one. It is graduated in 1/16" and has a logarithmic scale (look what angle it turns through from 1 to 2 compared with from 9 to 10).

Does it have any Starrett number on it so we could look to see what it was might have been used for?
