Yesterday I acquired a 36 page report which according to my boss was a must read for security intelligence.
The actual content I guess would have taken 100's of hours to compile - the front cover....that marketing super star is no weather man, broken 50p tyre gauge.

Funny, Allianz are a bunch of idiots, they fail at basic math let alone insurance rating models. It was quite unpleasant working with them on a time critical project.

I "acquired" an identical steel drawer unit many years ago while dismantling ginormous hydraulic press in Walter Somers of Halesowen, they of the legendary "Iraqui Supergun" affair that Sheffield Forgemasters were embroiled in back in the 1980's.

It sat in my Dad's garage from about 1983 until he died 9 years ago and when I cleared it out it still had all the nuts and bolts and assorted junk in it that I put there! It went to the scrappie 4 years ago when we moved north and would now have been ideal in my mancave, but as I'm getting rid of stuff before I expire it would have been just more junk...

As we get older, time is the most precious commodity we have, and my Wife & I no longer intend to waste any of it getting rid of stuff before we expire, that will be the issue for those that inherit our estate; and if they're smart, they will profit from it all.

This arrived today, wanted a Bosch but they only do a 12V version and all my Bosch stuff is 18V.

As I have a Bosch to Ryobi battery adapter this was a no brainer

I've got one same as that but never bothered cleaning it. This one still has the pricker in the handle for cleaning the jet.

Nice little single-phase selecta grinder , Bought for £45 off gumtree instead of going down to Screwfix and spending the same money on a naff import one.

Very happy with it sharpened most of my blunt drills very well and runs smoothly just need to do something about the crap homemade safety guards

I think @Dieselkid 63 had a very nice restoration of one much similar , Not sure if i will go that far i do have a sandblaster and that kit but we will see, Not sure if i can match diesel kids skills on the brass plate rejuvenation however

It is nearly Easter. We had a shopping order from Tescos and I remembered to order these, many packets

They are best lightly toasted. Being furloughed last year I didnt get any from not going past Tesco.
(I have not forgiven them for stopping the sale of honey roasted peanut butter.)

First to arrive today was a Makita DA3010 angle drill from FFX, bought specifically for sanding the inside of bowls as it provides better access/approach to the inside than a drill - and turns at a slower speed so doesn't burn out the sanding pads or 'overload' the abrasive.

Also got an email telling me that something was arriving from China but didn't have a clue what it was until I opened the wee box so made for a pleasant surprise! Several months ago I'd invested in a crowdfunded project for some Bluetooth earbuds and it was them; very, very impressed with the audio quality and it'll make listening to music in the workshop much easier and comfortable - about half the price of equivalent Apple, Bose, or various others - I did my research and the chap has an established background in headphone design.

A 5! hp motor. Not tested but the spindle freely turns. Might make a hell of a belt/disk sander if it works though.

Potentially challenging as:
Theres no wiring diagram on the lid of the control box
There’s 5 wires coming in (labelled 1 to 5)
there’s no contactor/switch
I make it as drawing 25a so I’m going to need a heavier cable than I’ve got.

would testing and putting a control box on it be something any spark would do or how would I find someone who knows How/if it can be got going?

i've got one of those bookpresses on my "find a cheap one" list.
i want to use it to press kydex, but also as a press for making micarta handle blanks.

i'll find one for 20 or 30 quid, eventually.
dont want to spend £100+ on a "rare vintage antique barn find" one to cover it in pixy resin

There used to be one in the 2nd office I worked in - the Manager used to carry it in the boot of his car for extra weight, if there was snow. It was a heavy old thing and took two to carry it.

No 'scale' mug in @Olderisbetter's pic but it may have been bigger....
