I just open a command prompt and set a ping running to a well-maintained site like Google or EvilBay (ping -t -w 1 www.whatever.com) the -t runs it until you stop with ctrl-c, -w 1 tells it to wait one second before the next one out whether you got a response or not. When you stop it it'll give you max, min and average response times, number of responses received and failed, percent lost.I seem to be loosing the internet intermittently!
I had put it down to the VPN but its still happening despite been closed.
Network status in windows 10 is not very useful as I think its staying connected to the net but stopping traffic.
Wired...Is this wired or wifi? You need to establish if it’s the router or connection issue.
I wish users would put more info on there posts as very little to go on thereI seem to be loosing the internet intermittently!

other way aroundJust had a conversation with a guy on Facebook.
"Andy Taylor are you sure as the larches Road area are all on copper as its an old installation from 1998 and no plans to upgrade. You might think it's fibre, but if its virgin it's copper, even if its a new installation the wire to the end of your drive is copper as its only fibre to the exchange. "
I was under the impression that virgin was fibre through to the House which is why BT could not get the higher speeds???
Anyone know the truth?
No I was under the impression that when they fitted my initial virgin it was Fibre straight through with no copper.other way around
virgin has always been fibre to the box and copper wire to the property
bt refused to update its network for profit since 2005/6
only in the last few years has bt been upgrading its network to fibre and its way behind
bt still work fibre to the box and then to a wire dont think they dont because they do
only if you pay a premium price will you get bt fibre to the property
nopeNo I was under the impression that when they fitted my initial virgin it was Fibre straight through with no copper.
So you are saying virgin has always been fibre to the box. By box I take it you mean the bit in front of my lawn with a round black plastic cover on it
Don't get me started...I have BT and VM and they both have this problem. I would say VM is slightly worse than BT but they both do it.I seem to be loosing the internet intermittently!
