Going to check the plates and weigh the trailer, Had trailers for 30 years and never been pulled but knowing my luck I will get pulled! so best be legalthe thing to watch for is your RR max weight (without trailer) - if that is 3.5T, then you wont be able to tow ANY trailer on a post 97 licence. (or if its 3T, you can only use a trailer plated sub-500kgs max)
i'm having this issue with my new van.
<edit> first figures i found gives 3.2T GVW for RR sport, with a 2T kerb weight - so i could only tow (with my 1998 licence) a 300kg plated trailer - even if the car was otberwise empty.
BUT: I could carry a tonne bag of sand in the boot.
