I've got one of the three original handles which is a hard plastic, celluloid ? material, we did discuss in its own thread what to make them from and if I did not have one of the originals I would have probably gone for a hardwood. I kind of wanted to keep it true to the original even if not the same, a bit like the way you extend a historic building on theme but not trying to hide the work that has been done.
We shall see, if I don't like them I can always back peddle and remake all three.

Cleared access to the lathe, not used it for a few weeks. I had some new CBN inserts I was wanting to try so a quick test on the first peice of HSS I found. Just light cuts on a rough ground boring bar.
Well, they work! Carbide will cut HSS but I found it requires excessive pressure and stresses the lathe. These cut without pressure, massive improvement!

A very king Member here sent me a lot of Cup washers.
So, what to do with them?
Well, if I didn't have a use for them, I would not of asked for them.
3 Brass Garden sprayers.
All with the washers and seals shot.
Unlike a Paraffin Blow torch, they need 2 cup washers.
The way to fit them and getting a good seal is.
Fix a washer 2/3 the diameter of the internal size of the washer in the upper one.
Fix a washer the same size as the internal diameter of the lower.
Then adjust the locking nuts to give enough flex to give a seal.
The lower 2 are double cup sealed sprayers.
The upper one is a different designe.
It was, by tradition on the continent, to use horse air and grease. Some can be converted to the double cup designe. By removing the seal fixing and fixing the new washers.
Not on this one. It was brazed into place.
So remove the old seal and clean up.
Then wrap a few layers of PTFE tape to bulk up the seal.
Then using PTFE Pipe seal fill up to the leval of the fixing.
Finally a few turns of PTFE Tape.
The cup washers need to be soft.
But some methods of forming them can leave them dry and hard.
So.
I soaked mine in warm Linseed oil.

It is John and I think that angle on it is one of your best yet.
changed my Myford ml7 motor from the 2800rpm one I'd put on there for a rewired (star to delta by finding the star point), bearings cleaned and checked (genuine skf so I didn't change them), some shellac painted on for good luck. Runs like a dream on the vsd. Need a pulley with a smaller hole.

I made this a few years back out of a couple of large head camshaft sprocket securing bolts off an old Ford. Ideal for a small air grinder........make sure you got safety glasses on obviously

Rather you than me - angle grinder 6-8000rpm. Air die grinder 20-30,000rpm. Having had thin discs break up on an angle grinder as I hadn't noticed they were rather beyond their use by date, more like a full face mask ballistic protection would be required.

Today I used the old button panel from my CNC Lathes control panel to make up a test pendant.
I am wanting to see exactly what works and what doesn't when I set the parameters in the SZGH control, that is now on my lathe, for handheld instead of panel MPG.
The manual is not exactly clear, it seems to suggest that a couple of buttons on the panel will not be able to be used, that is not an issue because I don't use them anyway. It also seems to say I can not use the feed or spindle override rotary switches, that is more of a problem as I use them. I could use the up/dn buttons for each that are on the panel but they are less intuitive and take longer, especially feed override as occasionally I want to turn that fully to zero as quick as I can and having to repeatedly press a button to do that would be slow.
I will test it out tomorrow and if I can still use the feed overrides then I will buy a proper box and cable for making the pendant.

I'd never tried making a box before and I figured it would be good to have a go and use the project as an opportunity to practise hand tool woodworkery. No designs were involved in the making of this box: I just made it up as I went along in a rather haphazard way!
Everything was done with hand tools with one exception: the walnut liners (which are 2 mm thick) were put through the thicknesser to get them even as I didn't think my hand planing skills were up to getting them that thin and even over the whole area.

Just finished the last of a curtain pole order,customer wanted me to copy his sisters ones,made by a French blacksmith,I like them a lot,more so than my usual ball end or shepherds crook.
This one also acts as a room divider as it’s long ,it’s 16 mm bar.

Woke up in half lockdown .
Split wood for the stove .
Went to buy food , water etc as I normally do on Sunday morning with my mom (she prefers to sit in my car than my father's one , and I'm more collaborative than him
)
Once back home I've helped to store what we bought.
And finally had few hours for me .
I've attempted to start my Lombardini engine (always the same one which doesn't work)
After few attempts playing with timing ,carburator jet settings I've discovered that all the time spent on it trying to figure out why it doesn't work it's essentially my fault.
I've had to remove the cylinder head to break loose the exhaust valve time ago .
And I've used some liquid gasket which doesn't allow current to flow to the head properly ,so it will start only if I pull very hard and fast the starting rope .
I've tried to put a wire from the ignition coil to the head and it attempted to start
5 full strokes and died once it wasn't spinning enough to have a strong spark .
Tomorrow since I'll can't go practically nowhere other than the baker ...
I'll spend my morning trying secure a wire to the cylinder head and the coil.
Try various carb settings to make it start (probably too lean ) and if it doesn't work I'll attempt to play with the ignition timing (which if it's not right is close to be )
After lunch I've blueprinted on sketch up an apartment for a job .
And calculated how much material we will need to make the electrical installation for it.

My cut for the penknife handle was off centre, boo! Figured I needed to be able to adjust the drill table up/down a fraction at a time.
Seen various folk making a machinist jack but I have no lathe. Found a piece of M12 threaded rod but no associated nuts so knocked this up:

Ok who knows how to rotate photos in the new software?
Short answer - If you wait until later today when the forum is moved to a new server, then this should sort itself out.
Long Answer - since updating the forum software EXIF meta data (Exchangeable Image File) is not being processed. This is the bit of info your camera/phone attaches to the image file that contains info like location, time, camera/lens type, exposure details and the important bit in this case, orientation. The process that interprets this meta data should be a function of the underlying server or virtual machine so Malcolm is hoping this gets sorted when he moves servers later today. If not, there will probably need to be some configuration to the new forum software to enable this to work properly.
Workaround, rotate your screen or head through 90 degrees or take up yoga

Made some more progress making bits for the woodturning lathe centre steady; cut, marked out, drilled and shaped the various bits that I hope should all bolt together... started to think about the base and how I'm going to secure it to the bed. Bolts yet to be ordered but once bearings arrive tomorrow I should have a clearer idea. Oh, and fittings for the extrusion...
