No he didn't come from money, however at the young age of 13 he was taken under big Ron's wing and was nurtured through his career thereafter, and he had no more problems than any other driver because he was of mixed race. When LH preaches at race weekend, I should not have to have my enjoyment of the coverage - which I pay for - being spoiled by having to either change channel or mute the volume so I don't have to listen to him!LH is a rarity in F1 in that he didn't come from money or motor sport history. If you admire him as driver then his personal agenda doesn't change that. The only reason to stress about people preaching to you is if you decide to listen to what they say. If you are going follow someone then you are sucking yourself into their world.
I agree, many celebs do this and usually I don't agree with them either. However, we are talking F1 and I never heard the likes of Senna or Schumacher 'preaching' about the charities and causes that they supported and donated plenty of money to - and there was no controversy surrounding them. IMHO, LH preaching about such a very controversial movement has no place in F1.Many high profile celebs use their status to leverage something they see as important. Lewis is probably the first F1 driver to be doing it so publicly and at a time where it's high focus.
Let's be clear, after a period when LH threw his toys out of the pram when things weren't going his way, I thought he'd finally matured and grown up. Even though he's in the best F1 car, I still think he is a great driver, skilful and super quick - especially over a lap. I don't follow LH on social media, however I cannot "switch off" from him because if I want to watch the coverage of the race weekend, I have to watch the coverage of LH.If you are a fan of LH as a driver there is no reason why you can't watch the practice, watch the qualifying, watch the race then switch off. You'd have to be very naive to think that if you follow him on social media he is only going to be talking about tyre choices and race strategy.
Out of respect for you, I'll not answer the previous post.I'll say it once again, keep the discussion to the sporting aspects of F1.
If you can't abide by that then don't take part. If you insist on doing so you will be reply banned from the thread. This was a nice thread about a sport and if it becomes substantially not that then it'll just get closed.
I hope that's clear for everyone.
Thanks.
Probably due to the fact that Silverstone is charged around £5m to host Moto GP and in excess of £20M to host the F1 GPJust looked at ticket prices for silverstone F1, almost 3 times the price of the moto gp.![]()
I expect they will all be arguing that they are essential workers & must jump the vaccine queue!^^ been a few now including, Lando, Sergio, Lance, Lewis. That’s without the team members who have not been named.
Isn't it likely the tank split? Or would that not have made an even bigger inferno? It was instant, wasn't it?F1/FIA have gone very quiet on what caused the fire.

Are you thinking batteries or capacitors?
