I have a push in sight glass on my milling machine horizontal gearbox. It’s a fairly loose ish push fit in the column. When it came out it had been bodged and seemed to have some wraps of ptfe tape wrapped around it - not sure how much it sealed as the oil level was below the sight glass...
I assume a fluid type sealant would make a better job of this than just ptfe tape, but which to use? I have 3 to choose from but I’m not sure which would be better? Loctite 572 or 577 or jet lube v2 paste?? Or something else??
