Circular saws are nasty things in metal... loud and a bit of a pita for anything but occasional cuts in thicker materials and on site.

I would always advise against finance if possible, better off with a loan ... business or personal, buy what you can afford unless you have a contract big enough to pay the whole finance package.

Nice and shiny is nice, but not always financially viable .

Only time I would finance is when I can afford the purchase but the finance on offer is so cheap its pointless using my own money.... ie when you don't really need the finance

done that twice when buying vehicles. Both times dealer offered incentive to take finance , took out the smallest amount possible over 12 months. Think I paid around £85 interest to save £750 on one, and had 0% on another with 3 months back (£1500) on another. Stupid not to take it .

My current car I bought on a PCP to get a £1500 discount. Wen the time came round to pay the final balloon payment the sales guy went into all of his spiel to try to talk me into one of his 'options' and I just said we'll pay off the 5 grand.

Why not have the parts laser cut and delivered?

I have actually got a quote from the laser shop they wanted £2400 for 60 pieces cutting to shape 2m x 1m. Obviously there was more to it than them measurements but that was overall size of the pieces. It sounded alot at the time but now I'm thinking about it that is cheap to supply, cut and deliver. Kind of kicking myself now.

£40 per panel is really cheap that size. Especially profiled to how you need.

Obviously there was more to it than them measurements but that was overall size of the pieces. It sounded alot at the time but now I'm thinking about it that is cheap to supply, cut and deliver. Kind of kicking myself now.

Is that 60-off 2mx1m pieces, or one sheet of 2mx1m cut into 60 pieces?

The first is cheap, the second is only cheap if the material is 30-40mm thick

Yes thats right, they showed me around there massive workshop in Sheffield before covid (i didn't ask to they wanted to show me there capabilities) and I had i good chat with the chap that does the pricing about what we do and how much we are likely to want off them. Maybe that had something to do with it the cheap price.

That's crazy cheap... You could barely buy the materials for that, assuming 1.6mm MS sheet. Should have jumped on that offer.

It's 3mm sheet that was talked about so I think its safe to say that somewhere along the line there has been a misunderstanding. The £40 a sheet sounds much more likely for machine time/materials handling and delivery not including the cost of the sheet steel.

Materials going to be around £25-30 +VAT per sheet, so depending on just how much cutting is required .
I would say around £40-£45 + VAT a sheet cut would be a good price.
If they were doing it for cash then £2400 would be about reet

@Adam Marshall - We’ve put clients in touch with Johnson Reed before for equipment finance as they offer a leasing deal with an option to purchase the kit at the end of the deal for a nominal figure.

They have a cost calculator on their website - possibly worth a call and I always used to speak to Jamie Collier
