Its the 305gefiThat’s a Miller Xtreme. The suitcase is on so you must be picking up current off of the OCV.
what power source are you using?
Is the power source on electrode-hot, or contactor?
If contactor, then the suitcase needs to send a signal to the power source to close the contactor, so maybe a bad signal wire.
If electrode hot, then the suitcase contactor can't be closing.
Just by passed it with a screw driver and it arc! Pressed the trigger and it arced thanx for ur help....now i gotta order that partYes, that is it. The coil will be fed by some low voltage, 12v or 24v, or maybe 110 AC, and then internally it closes the large bolted contacts. When operating, you should hear or feel a click inside. You could bypass it with a car jump lead across the external contacts to see if that fixes the lack of arc.
For that ill need a mulitmeter. Need to get a hold of one if continuity is good can it be fixed?Check for continuity in the coil.
Before you order it?
If continuity is good, the Contactors not the problem, could be whatever's supplying the signal voltage. For that ill need a mulitmeter. Need to get a hold of one if continuity is good can it be fixed?
only fuse i know it has is the over heat. About itIf continuity is good, the Contactors not the problem, could be whatever's supplying the signal voltage.
You've checked any fuses I assume?
Getting old...i have about 200 hrs on it bought it usedWhack 12 volts across it, if it don't click it's dead.
I'd check that, and try tapping it gently.
Old machine?
