Hats off for taking that on, though might be worth getting a better one as a base and using that as a donor? While using some parts as a mule to learn chopping and melting on. Sentimentality goes out the window for me (closely followed by a stream of hot exotic sweariness) when a Thing becomes more hassle than the end seems to be worth.

I feel that there may be more than a few swear words involved in this project! It might be good find another and use Daisy as a donor, I'll keep that in mind.

A landie is definately one of the cars I'd have. I also forgot about about the 1930s Gangster style cars & the Bugatti Royale that was in The Addams Family movie (that you can't seem to buy on region 2 dvd!)

hi claire, i am just starting with little stuff atm i aint brave enough to jump into restoring a car yet, i am currently in the process of making a manifold to fit zzr600 bike carbs on a vauxhall 1.6 8 valve :d

Our local scrapyard was sending them to Eastern Europe in containers and getting good money for them, they were breaking them for spares over there as they can't get hold of parts still want to keep the cars on the road, not like our throwaway culture.

One good thing about where I live here in upper South Carolina in the US we have very little rust because we seldom have snow. I think I like it that way. Ben

Good luck with the restoration. I happen to like lada's myself as I my mother had one (a Riva), I learned to drive in it and when I passed my test it was given to me. My friends and I had lots of fun in it, doing whatever 17 year olds do in cars!!

I currently own two landy's, One of them is a '64 series 2a. when I bought it, it was really only fit for scrap, but it was the particular model I wanted. I've spent much more money on it than it's worth in cash and I wouldn't even like to guess how many hours, but to me it is beyond value. It isn't about monetary value, if you restore it yourself it is the sense of acomplishment, and that warm feeling you get when people admire it!
