I've seen quite a few large Carver clamps (36" and larger)go in the skip at work because they were missing a part, dozy sods can't be bothered to pick up the phone and order the necessary spare parts to be able to sell them. The miserable gits won't let us have them but would rather lose money but I'm sure the scrappies sort through our skip for the goodies within.

That's all down to the b**dly awful liability/claim culture - image of you were to cut/injure yourself while using one of them - instant claim and 'kerching'. The world's gone to Hell in a handcart, sheer lunacy!!

Ive been to the Bushmills distillery in Ireland. They also distill Midleton whiskey. My last name is Middleton, so was looking forward to buying a bottle and a jacket so something.... so I mentioned to one of the staff that my name was spletwith 2 ‘d’s, to be told the ‘yes some peOple, don't spell it correctly’

This, for free. Interior designer wanted the rusted bench it was attached to and dumped the vice. I asked what the plan was for it and they said it’s going to the tip, it’s yours if you want it. Not that I neeeeeed another vice...

For some reason even a hafen of the Scotch stuff gives me gut rot for days on end .
I suppose it is the cheapness of th Scotch only being distilled twice that is the cause of the problem, whereas the Bushmills triple distilled single malt 30 yr old goes down like a sweet alcohol free kiddies malt beer. Till it catches up with you 1/5 of the way down the bottle
I'm not a big whiskey drinker but I always preferred Bushmills over Scotch. Then at a work xmas do a few friends & I demolished a bottle of Black Bush then started on ordinary Bush, then it all got a bit foggy. Next day I had the worst hangover ever & ever since I cannot manage more than one before I start to feel sick!
My BIL is a member of an online whiskey tasting group & gets to try some nice & some horrible brews. He was telling me about a limited batch of 100 year old Bushmills that has just gone on sale for £25,000 per bottle!!
He has a couple of bottles of Japanese whisky that are nicer than both Scotch or Irish in my opinion but his favourite is Old Putney, a Scotch! Traitor!

It gets even worse the ........even the Welsh make whisky nowadays . I'm waiting for the people of Norfolk to bring theirs to the table & promote it as " Norfolk 'n' good "
