I've acquired a little bit of micro spot corrosion on some supposedly 18/18 high end stainless steel shower / bathroom disable persons support arm bracket , other fittings & some stay bright steel lockers & cabinets inthe bathroom.
Anyone know how to dissolve it back to clean metal & prevent more happening?

Barkeepers friend powder might work? No idea what it is, probably toxic enough to melt your eyeballs if you look at it too long or some such rubbish. But its never let me down and says you can use it on stainless.

I have used it to get black water marks out of wood, clean rust off the bottom of saucepans, clean limescale off of sinks/tubs. Hasnt marked anything yet. It will mark stone though apparently

Phosphoric acid, about 10 to 30% solution, iirc.

Once laid some 45 sq metre of Heuga ( sp?) tiles like that but in a speckled black & dark blue .
Carefully setting the arrows on the backs to get the patterning right , only to find a few weeks later one tile 90 degrees out. It took months to get over the ribbing off the lads .

For the simply constructed key @Farside has, a disassembly and soak in apple-cider vinegar will dissolve all oxidation / corrosion and bring the parts back looking as new.

If Farside has been particularly good this year (checking it twice) then another book to go with it

Not today, but over the weekend I collected;

1 large, probably 6” wide jaws, machine vice
1 small, probably 4” wide jaws, machine vice
1 small, probably 3” wide jaws, machine vice
1 small, probably 5” diameter, rotary table
1 large, probably 12” diameter, rotary table
2 boxes of random lathe tooling that probably too big to use on the Colchester or Kerry but hey, it’s tool steel
1 collection of MT1-4 drills in a tasty wooden rack
1 massive dividing head with 3 jaw chuck attached.

Pocket felt the damage, but I believe I came away with an under priced haul and I’m quite please with it.

If it matters, I parted with £550 for the lot.

I had one.
WW1 and WW2 Hand saw.

The teeth are very sharp and it is still a useful tool today.

One of these for the XS650 - it's nominally an XS750 one, but offering it up to the 650, it will fit nicely.
Cleaned up nicely, with just the slightest bit of chrome rash on the backrest tubing, which I probably won't be using anyway.

They are pretty decent chainsaws I've used the military ones numerous times . Get yourself two toggle ropes about 8 feet long with a loop at one end
Use the ropes through the eyes to pull cut up to 10 inch thick branches from the ground , extend the ropes for four man pulling so they are a decent distance from the falling branch .

I use the Bilt Hamber Deox and Deox gel, the Deox comes as bulk powder which you mix with water and is totally non toxic and you can mix it in various strengths and quantities which is handy for classic truck components, the Deox gel is ready mixed and you paint it on, it holds well on vertical surfaces to around 4mm thickness and if you cover with cling film it can stay active for days.

I have some of that as well, it citric acid based. Works well, but doesn't last as long as the evaporust and seems to etch metal more. I still use the gel for vertical surfaces, dead handy for that, but I buy citric acid in bulk off the bay of thieves instead of the deox powder, much cheaper.
