I think in the new workshop I may bite the bullet and do the same as you, buy something new that'll do mew for a good while.

That's the most annoying thing about my previous battery lights, and my current USB-chargeable ones. In fact, more annoying than that, the battery lights (from Halfords, bought as a front/rear pair in a single box) didn't cycle through in the same order - one went off / flash / steady / off, the other went off / steady / flash / quicker flash / off. The new ones were from Aldi, and also have the silly multiple modes, as do the two workshop lights that I've bought from the Far East to use in the shed. Oh, for a normal on/off switch.

A pair of "pull down" ratchets that had been thrown on the floor at Scunthorpe steelworks, presumably because somebody just couldn't be bothered :rolleyes:

Nothing wrong with them that a few minutes with a wire brush and a few drops of gear oil won't sort out.
