Are the Rectus21 fittings, same as euro air line/pcl xf?

Height is listed 420mm, is the handle easy to remove and the height without it? Im hoping it will fit where my mig used to live.

My order status went from 'waiting bank transfer' to 'shipped' and then back to 'processing in progress'.

I emailed today in case there was a problem with the bank transfer to be told it had shipped...at which time it was delivered by Parcel force. The order status online didn't get updated with a tracking number

No, Rectus21 is much smaller than euro/PCL XF. I'll try and take a photo of them side by side tonight.

Now, no sniggering, these genuinely are the first beads with the Sherman .(and any TIG for that matter), 3mm Al at 110 - 120A. Unfortunately that's the only piece of scrap I have.

First class for a first go, in fact a lot of people who have been welding for a while would be proud of that

You can get plenty more runs in on that piece of ally. Fill it up. Just let it cool every few passes.

Yes, keep going until it's 30 mm thick. Best excersise you can get when new to ally

I pulled mine back apart earlier to remove the wrap and make a connector from m10 to rectus until the other connector turns up.

Need to order a rectus male for the big old 27 torch so can keep that for alloy and swap to the smaller one for stainless and steel.

Not particularly pretty, this is 0.9mm butt welded at 30A (front and rear). Compared to MIG, this is so much more sedate!

You could always just dunk the Alu in water to cool. Not a great idea for a proper weld but for practice pieces it won't make a difference.

Done some little stainless plate work this morning.
Leaking hot water boiler tank.
A 300x700mm plate on one side and 300x200mm plate on the other.

Still happy with it. Did use my 17size torch though as cut the m10 off the 26 and used the hose tail rectus for the regulator as an adapter till the other union turns up.

Excellent service from @www_weldes_de - ordered on Sunday arrived this afternoon, earlier than expected so I'm yet to pick up a 16A plug.
Anyone else who's ordered, note that mine didn't come with hose and tail from regulator though a quick release is provided for the machine end. Can't grumble, £480 including the pedal.

I've got event ready to go, but just not had any time to fire mine up yet..

I had to put it in the box, but my ocd is quite pleased it all fits nicely. I got the 51 piece tig set and few extra red tungstens. I have no idea what to start with but as its raining I guess I should go back to the decorating.

It was still raining so I was doing it in 0.5m² corner of the shed, on the floor! thats my excuse I started off trying to braze my lathe cover, sort of worked but did not flow too well. Ill cut up some mild sheet tomorrow for more practise (and bin the rest of this galv).

Amazed how precise this is. I ran a few no filler beads at 20A, could see a nice puddle and control it. Only tip dipped twice. Found the torch is massive. AC is.. unpleasant.

Problem sometimes it wouldnt tig what was I doing wrong, I could see the HF and hear the gas, then nothing. Turning it off and on again worked. I had a ground clamp nearby and the tip was not touching. Dirty area on the steel?
Gas I was at 4-10l/m but lower seemed better
