yea but a mechanical one is either metric or imperial and you cant zero them from your last measurement .also when your mince pies are failing the readouts aren't so clever . handy if your lathes imperial and you need to convert to metricThis turned up today. I am not a fan of digital stuff but thought I would give one a go!

How about this,taken in 1984 ,in the next village,I lived in mid Sussex then,and I think this was carrying a railway carriage from the bluebell railway.
I've replaced my Makita drill twice now, plastic gearbox packed up both times, the batteries were good which is why I bought a replacement body. They're obviously not designed very well as the same thing happened in the replacement, they have done me good service to be fair.
It was time for an upgrade though, much better and worlds apart in quality.

The excavator manufacturer in Hull was Priestman, Packed up years ago. A good tough machine, to many buy outs, take overs etc.There’s a chap near me who was an engineer there,weren’t they in Hull?

Swiss tech are pretty good.I got some cutting fluid and a 14mm end mill to try out. Don't know the quality of Swiss Tech but at £7 not a lot to lose!
