Hi everyone I need to make two surfaces slide against each other preventing wear .
The initial idea was steel on steel but I've discovered that ain't gonna work.
So cast iron on steel would be preferable according with what I've understood but hard to find ,or better I have a cast iron piece but it's not straight or square.
I was thinking to use flattened copper pipe but I don't know if it will wear in reasonable time .
Another thing I would like to know if the wear will decrease if applying a lubricant .
It should decease but I'm not sure if it would last longer
I also have a piece of alluminium.
The main parts will be made out of mild steel and those parts have to slide against each other but I would like to know what to put between that can last enough to avoid to replace the parts frequently .
Thanks in advance
