The previous attempts with the SAU SEL1616 holder was made with an APT 16IR insert (all I has at the time) although I did manage to get quite a good results still some flare on the chuck side flank...
Ordered a Vardex 3EL10ACMEVTX insert from Cutwel which arrived next day also decided to change compound angle to 13degree. Not a very inspiring result...
Next decided to try a straight plunge...
Possibly better but still that strange taper on the left (trailing) flank.
This can't be a tool setup problem now - the shim is nowhere near fouling the workpiece and the angles should be about right with the feeler gauge shim
I don't think this is a problem with the Belleville washer pack as I believe that would affect the opposite flank but I'll try marking the clutch componets to see if there is any movement.
