Two dormer taper reamers with sharp flutes, incorrectly sold as drill bits.

One Eclipse No1 automatic centre punch, rusted and not working now clean and working.

Hi

I nipped to the bootsale this morn and picked up a couple of watches, The Junghans won't run and the second hand is adrift!, The Citizen eco drive is just too tight for my podgy wrist so it's on a di Modell leather strap now!!

Also picked up this Swift Trilyte mk3, 8x40 binocular in very good order at the same bootsale..

What was the name of the Rotring pen that had a small cup and spring loaded plunger in it, the cup being on a side hinge so the stylus could be angled back to your own comfort . You use to have to clean them out in a special slightly opaque cleaning solution The cup was topped up with a syringe of ink IIRC They were normally used for lining in and used with a small stencil set to do block capital & lowercase lettering on documents etc

Was it a UNO pen? I can vaguely remember stencil sets by Normongraph(?) and Standardgraph, pretty sure I've got one of the latter tucked away somewhere too - but not a pen. I think the stencil sets will still work with a Fineliner pen but it's years since I've used either.

Weren’t those made in Ireland? I have one somewhere. I had a lovely Rotring 60cm ruler and I didn’t realise I’d spilled turps on it - bonded to my metal trolley and completely shattered when I tried to lift it off. I’ve always liked the orange tint of the stencils.

Cheers for the pump recommendations Brad, it was cheap but I was hopping to swap the motor out for a 240v unit but its going to have to be new pump and motor. I could repair it but its hardly worth it when I dont want the added hassle of a 110 transformer as well. Someone should have used antifreeze in it.

I messaged the buyer asking if it was still in their possession, and whether I could buy it back. To my delight, they said I could have it for free as they never used it! I’m very happy, I brought this over from England, it feels very much ‘mine’!

Pretty much! I was in two minds as to sending but as with all things, worst that happens is they say no. It really is a shockingly bad restoration job, but I was just 14 when I did it. The paint has held up quite well considering, preserving the workings. I’m looking forward to giving it a proper going over.
