I asked mainly because despite being given a cracking tip from a shower engineer (always run the shower cold before turning off so it does Not agitate the limescale loose.) Despite doing that I need to empty the shower head daily. And every two days I have to clear the outlet with 3D printer filament as it gets blocked with large limescale particles.For non-potable water? Yes, and standard in industry for hot water and low pressure steam raising. High pressure steam requires more than just ion exchange softening though. As does cold water for plating and similar 'specialist' activities.
