My friend says his friend seems to have things sorted with one of the sellers via his Polish workmate, not sure which seller though and maybe I shouldn't say even if I find out just in case Jasic has put the bite on them.

I wonder if "putting the squeeze" on a supplier in Poland selling into the UK might actually be a breach of EU rules....it isn't my area of expertise but I know the rules on anti competitive behaviour in the UK/EU are pretty tight and most companies with half a brain would steer well clear of a complaint being brought against them.

But not my area..in past jobs we've always had a law team who would advise...but maybe someone on here knows more?

We have this challenge at work, we can have a contractual agreement with resellers across EU not to do certain things but it is a bit of a minefield to free trade regulations across the EEA, any hint of anti competition and the legal team get very worried, the fines are big. Even if we do have an agreement with a reseller to not sell into other territories for example, they can sell on to another trader in their region and then they can do what they like... Although we have grassed on some export/import companies for tax evasion..

Yep that was my experience too...even a mention of anti competitive pricing and the lawyers were in a panic....I think it was because the fines were like a sledge hammer cracking a walnut. But I guess they did it that way intentionally to prevent people trying to sail too close to the wind.

...and sometimes it only takes one complaint with a backup email from a supplier confirming what is happening!

The suppliers I spoke with just said they are out of stock - no issues with supplying to the UK. I wouldn't worry, I don't think some of these places were expecting to sell 100's of these in a few weeks.

Doesn't really explain why the site I bought mine from is now offline though ...if it was just stock that wouldn't affect their web site?

The more I think about it the more interested I am in digging around to find out what is really happening

If its pemet it says they are updating their site, and in english. Maybe it's as simple as they want to make it more accessible to the uk by adding a properly translated version after their recent success
I do like a good conspiracy though

I suspect most of the people who have bought the Sherman would not have bought the Jasic Tig anyway.

Well im in a bit of bind now still no word from the seller that sent me the 416p by mistake so I got impatient and had play today on steel and Ali seems to work really nicely better than the sip one I used previously but its early days yet things of note are the fan is loud and I couldn't get pulse to work but I'm pretty sure that me not setting it up right still might have to get a jasic/sherman just in case

I guess you mean 216p rather than 416p??
I just had a look to see if I could find it on eBay but failed. But they do seem to offer a lot of very similar machines, all around the 200 amp rating, and all ac/dc machines, which is really confusing.

I will just post the link as it seems they were fine posting to the uk.
Worth noting my friend has only just paid for it and not received it yet so...
Paypal is accepted so it should be relatively trouble free if things go wrong.
It is a bit more expensive than I paid, mine was £490 delivered and my friend was £511, so still cheap enough.

I went through every supplier of AC TIG on allegro and at checkout I was told every one wouldn't deliver to UK Maybe they have had trouble with UK buyers not paying.
That greyeagle deal looked expensive 2 weeks ago but today it seems like a bargain...

According to my friends Polish Workmate, Allegro is Poland only and won't send to other places. How true that is I have no idea as I don't speak/read Polish and as I have a Sherman I can't be ersed doing a google translate

Regarding the Greyeagle looking epensive compared to a few weeks ago, I would say just slightly as I certainly paid £490ish delivered and I think most were around that although the Weldes.de site was seemingly a bit cheaper than the Sherman.eu one.
