Bearing factors sell individual steel balls for bearings, buy a bearing ball online, put it into the heart of a barbecue, leave it until morning to normalise, and you have your soft ball!

I need just one ball for the locating of the backgear handle. It’s spring loaded but the grub screw and ball were missing. To my delight however the spring was not - it was gummed up inside stuck to the shaft. Result!

Drive pulley has been braze repaired. Not much else done... super busy with work and I cracked a tooth which has meant a LOT of funds have been reallocated. If you want to buy this drill let me know, no machine is safe atm as I need funds

Sounds like you one, quieter if anything.
When I built my gantry crane I didn't have a magnetic drill so for the 20mm fixing bolts to the upright legs, I had one end of the 3m steel beam on the trailer, other end on the drill table and used a jack to tweak the trailer to get it level. Worked a charm and I am sure my little Chinese drill would have broken the table under the load.

It feels unfathomably powerful when drilling, that’s for sure. Trying to sell it at the moment, need cash and space. It’s on Trademe if you’re interested??

If a bit jams in that there's no way you'll ever stall the drill!
A local fabricator who made agricultural equipment had one of those drills for drilling large holes. One time a large bit got caught in the hole, sending him flying & injuring him badly. After that he had all sorts of long levers made for holding stuff he was drilling that was too big for a vice.

Yeah I rest things against the column, not sure if it’s great for the column but you don’t get that light speed swiping action if something inevitably bites.
