Hi guys, I joined up last year after trying to get back into welding after a 15 year break. I used to use big rigs when I was an apprentice, and bought a sealey mightymig 130 a few years back. When I started using it last year, I had loads of problems, and the knowledgeable people here helped me fix it. It's got me through a couple of projects since, but I've decided it's time to replace it.
I tried to buy a 2 year old Jasic 160 pro mig earlier this week for 300, but it fell through.
I've narrowed my choice (I think) to 3 machines, two are inverter type (Bester 190c, R Tech 180) multi process machines, the other is traditional transformer, in the parweld xte181.
Most of my project stuff is automotive, with a bit of thicker stuff (~3mm) like gas bottle upcycling projects. Having Tig/MMA capabilities would be good, but none of them offer HF or AC, so not sure how useful it would be.
I like the idea of the simplicity of the transformer, but I'm intrigued by the versatility of the multi process machines.
Can anyone help me decide please!?
