if I ever get asked to do stuff and a timewaster I just tell the customer its uneconomical to repair and if they care to pay my hourly rate at whatever it takes I will do it .an old guy wanted me to change the motor out on a massive lathe. it was up to the eyes in crap and oil and you couldn't move it his new motor was a different size and shaft was different I said I couldn't do it the cheeky old git said I thought u were an electrician . you cant be much good as he said he wired the old one up 30 years ago .ok I said I can do it for u but have u got 600 quid to spend he said why cos that's what il charge u for doing it I could do it in my sleep but I care not to needles to say he didn't bother getting it fixed . not getting my hands dirty for peanuts
