Thanks @brightspark I’ll put a link in.
not much cop for hanging up in the utility room. your better off getting smoke alarms fitted and keep a c 02 extinguisher and only use a tumble dryer when you are at home
Lay out a few quid more than a cheap hot air dryer that needs an exhaust pipe to let the fluff & moist air out and go for one of the modern condensing dryers that are absolutely fantastic so long as you keep both filters clean .
I take both our filters in the shower with me , after giving them a quick spray of our usual bathroom sink cleaner to loosen any grease or particles of conditioner in the fluff . Then use the shower on needle jet setting on a just bearably hot setting to blast the fluff out the foam pad and from the micromesh filter screen from the opposite side to which they are deposited . Then pop them in the sink whilst I have my shower on a gentler jet setting . Never put them back in the dryer when they are wet for any fluff still in the machine seems to really stick to them . I also use a long handled bottle brush to rub any clogged fluff off the internal air chamber on the fist of each month and use the industrial vacuum to suck the loosened fluff out the air chest before putting the filters back in .
Our machine is just over 3 years old had it warranted serviced once a year for the first three years for about £60 on the normal shop price .
Alison is meticulous in clearing the mesh filter every time she has used the drying machine so it is clean for the next load and after every four drying session she changes out the foam filter in front of the condenser unit for cleaning . Which is when I get to have a shower with the filters .
Yeah it is a condensing dryer and I blow off the filters after every use with the compressor. All this is a good excuse to strip and clean it. But I keep it in my favourite room, the garage.
