I've searched back through the forum and not found anything other than a 6-year-old thread, has anyone found a decent replacement for Casenit that doesn't involve pack-hardening for days?
I've seen some stuff called "Beta 1" on EvilBay, but it's very vague about how it's used (I've asked them whether it's heat-and-dunk like Casenit, awaiting a reply!), and I've seen small amounts available from Eastern Europe (presumably they don't have mad pixie protection like the UK) but no clue as to what can replace it - if all else draws a blank I guess I can try pack-hardening the shaft I'm making that'll have needle rollers running direct on it (and will have to grind to dimension after...)
If so, any improvement on charcoal and washing soda that anyone can recommend?
Cheers,
Dave H. (the other one)
