Not me but my son is gutted . Thus morning he gets a phone call from the paint place where his car was left for work to be done........it's under water.
It's not a normal car it was a pristine S15 he has nurtured for the last few years and is virtually irreplaceable.
What makes it worse is this place has never flooded since 1982 as it is surrounded by a purpose built wall and the river can flood but not come into the yard.
Apparently the council open a sluice that never gets opened and all the water in the yard has come from that storm drain...even pouring through the bricks when I got there.View attachment 212834 View attachment 212835 View attachment 212836
The car is in the building to the left .can't be moved and they are expecting a high tide today to stop the water running off.
I do appreciate that people's homes and livelyhoods have been destroyed all across the country and in the scheme of things my son's car is small fry. (They reckon there is over a £million in that building) but it's what he lives for. He's gutted.

Assuming they are covered for this....On the upside, the company's insurance should handle it for him.
Sorry, but this image popped into my head when I read that........Flew from Belfast to Bristol yesterday late afternoon (on a plane, not holding a tarpaulin ) and the amount of flooding I could see was unreal!
Because the various agencys can't be bothered to clear out storm drains and any other drains/ditches etc. That costs money, and shareholders have to be paid their bonuses. It was a double whammy. A storm last weekend and another this weekend, the ground is simply saturated and the water has nowhere to go.
Had to look that up, had no idea what it was. It's not a normal car it was a pristine S15 he has nurtured for the last few years and is virtually irreplaceable.
It's not just a Silvia it's an S15.Had to look that up, had no idea what it was.
