I've just bought one of the Lidl plasma cutters and have a question over whether mine has a problem or it's a characteristic. I'm a first time user with one of these, so am not familiar with the operation;
I can do a clean cut just fine, but the torch wont re-start until the post-flow cooling cycle air blast has completed. If I mis-strike, or interrupt a cut, I have to wait until again until the cycle is over before it will resume. Is this normal for this machine? Air pressure remains good and the connections to the machine are firm and making good contact.
Mine doesn't do that. It arcs every time I start it. I'm certain that I did quite a few re-starts within the post flow time, I'll double-check next time I have a reason to use it.
Ive given up cant couldnt find one
Cant understand a national advertising campaign as such to sell what seems like a couple of dozen units.Me too, given that I was told that one of my local stores only started with four of them it makes you wonder what they base the store allocation on especially as someone says their local store had a pallet load of them .
Do they have Lidl in posh areas?Cant understand a national advertising campaign as such to sell what seems like a couple of dozen units.
Perhaps go to a posh area store where no one would even admit to knowing what one was let alone want one!
Lidl is middle class mateDo they have Lidl in posh areas?

Don't tell me, it stinks of Alsation pee and you have to look at the stock through a 1/2" thick sheet of polycarbonate before pleading with an 'assistant' to buy a four pack of Tennents super.Lidl is posh

Lets just say 'Trainspotting' was a documentaryDon't tell me, it stinks of Alsation pee and you have to look at the stock through a 1/2" thick sheet of polycarbonate before pleading with an 'assistant' to buy a four pack of Tennents super.
I've done another check and mine certainly won't restart within the post-flow time. Even if mid-cut and I pause for just a second It won't restart. So for anything that involves multiple cuts in different locations (well within the duty cycle) it's painfully slow. I've triple checked air pressure and it isn't plugged into an extension lead. I undid everything and set it up twrice without any difference in behaviour. Current setting doesn't have any effect.
Disappointing, because there won't be any possibility of an exchange at the store as they only had three units, and from the limited use I've had out of it I'm really pleased with every other aspect.
I'd be interested to hear from other owners how their machine behaves. I suppose the only recourse is via the warranty.
I bought consumables for mine on ebay from the shop river guy, he has a good reputation for selling decent quality Chinese gear.

They took 2 weeks to come from China & they fit the torch perfectly & function as they should.
