Is it rust or blood stains?
Where it was found, possibly both. I made new handles for it, and a leather sheath (my very first attempt at one). It’s ex army issue, complete with arrow mark.

Ahh....
Right.....
Call that a knife?
THIS is a knife!
It was found by my detecting buddy about 5 years ago, and was a solid lump of rust, so I experimented with a power source and some connectors. Surprised at how well it cleaned up.
Although it is still severely pitted, it holds its edge well. As an experiment, it was quite good fun.

Did you type that with an Oz accent![]()

The fencing is about the only thing that hasn’t fallen apart this week at our house. Boilers packed in, laptop screen hinges snapped, cars away for repair, dogs been ill. Just waiting for someone to top it off and drop a piano on me or soemthingIt is styled along the Finnish Puukko style and is one of my favourite designs. I carried one like this for years.
Well, must go now as I need to do some fencing, of the wooden kind!
:-(

@Migmac I'm surprised not to see (unless I missed it) a swing blade style knife in your inventory?
Although given the number you gralloch you probably see less of a benefit than the handful I deal with on an annual basis. Last season after having a go with a friends I ordered an Outdoor Edge one and find it very good. It's not as quick as my Mora to clean but a swing blade will never be, but it's actually not that bad.
Personally though I'd prefer it if it were two folding blades as I like to keep everything in my jacket or rifle when I'm out on the hill. The knife is a little too long for comfort in the pockets. Could put it on a belt I suppose but don't tend to like having stuff there, usually because I have a piece of climbing accessory rope as a belt...
