Following on from the previous chair post. A couple of chairs, fiver each, the cushions were very dirty/stained so refoamed and new fabric. One of them needs a new brace piece on the bottom between the legs but other than that they're pretty sturdy.

I once bought 2 pumps at a car boot sale, the first a Stuart Turner 3 bar one similar to this one and that's still powering my shower now, and also a grotty Salamander one, I paid £12 for both
I then sold the Salamander one on Ebay for £24! So I'm +£12
I love that sort of dealing!
Wise choice, I only fit Stuart Turner pumps. A Salamander nearly cost me the business

Any tips? I'll be helping my mum refoam & fabric our dining room chairs in a few months.
@Maker It's some kind of witch craft to get it as good as the professionals, watched a load of vids on youtube but still couldn't get my head round it and started getting very frustrated, but thankfully with these chairs it hides everything but the top so so long as the top looks good the bottom sides and underneath don't matter so much.
Get a decent stapler if you're going for staples instead of tacks. Try and get even tension when pulling the fabric and work from the centres outwards to the corners, doing opposite edges each time if that makes sense.
I'd avoid any fabrics with straight lines as lines will be less forgiving than plain or simple patterned fabrics.

Lovely little engines, designed by Turner who was responsible for the Triumph bike engines, quite a pedigree!
I never understood why they didn't fit them in the Triumph Stag instead of one-and-a-bit Dolomite engines, lighter, more power, *more reliable* by a long way!
The bigger Daimler 4.5 V8 was a favourite of drag racers in the 60s, capable of serious power and a lot lighter than e.g. a Chevy small-block.

Today I acquired an air nail gun.
While raking through tools yesterday, I found a box containing what I thought was an electric stapler. I brought it into the house to check it today, and saw it was actually an air nailer, and I have no idea where it came from.
The amount of times I could have used a air nailer over the last year or so, and there was one sitting, never used, at the bottom of a pile of boxes.

All three now a lot less dusty and running sweet as a nut. Magic petrol can strikes again!More candidates for the magic petrol can treatment. If that works I might even knock the dust off them.. These are Not so much aquired as on a lease/lend arrangement pending functionality testing.
Looks like I need to aquire a new phone...

My haul from the generous @The_Yellow_Ardvark. I gave them a tidy, and a polish yesterday, but must say the vark sent them in a very tidy condition, but I do like to give stuff an extra polish before use. I used some preservation wax on them, and I may go wild and give the handles a serious sanding, maybe not.
I’ve just been round to a neighbour and collected a little chair she wants reupholstered, so will be giving the upholsery hammer a good workout.

And today's progress report
The young local chap who's doing the fitting could have easily finished today [actually, what you see was done by lunchtime as he got a bit of help, but only in handing the sheets up to him]. The 'stop' was down to me being pernickety, and getting the Company to send off 2 new ali flashing lengths which had been slightly damaged at one end in transit - truth be told, I could just have straightened them, but.....
Anyway, no problem with the replacements and they're to be sent off today. Again, excellent service from the suppliers.
I'll just let him know when they arrive and the job'll be finished.

Ouch...
I’m paranoid about 2 stroke oil, to the point as soon as the fuel can is empty I put the oil in ready for the petrol to arrive.
I use premix, longer shelf life and less emissions
