You get better the more you do . I did 16 days continuous driving , driving seven hrs. in the day as well as some night driving … passed my test first off with flying colours … my tutor one Mr Hannah was an ex met police flying squad advanced driving tutor . Had a brilliant time under his tuition then spent the next 53 years learning how to drive better .

Today I drove better than yesterday
My instructor took me to the highway 130km/h ,I was like "how much did cost my grandmother funeral? I might need one too"
So overall much better than yesterday

Bought some cheap foam ‘garage’ flooring clip together squares, and now have a fancy bit of floor cover under my ‘stamping’ leather workbench, and in my little hut. Bought 4 square meters, and still have 2 tiles left over, which may go in the big hut, or I might use it to insulate a metal door (nothing goes to waste here).

I found the wooden floor surprisingly sore on the feet after several hours standing using my lathe or mill, but happy feet today. It also looks tidier, although no idea how long it will last.

More red paint and quick wire brushing of the anvil. I’m very pleased with how this turned out.

I put them down in the cave 8[ish] years ago and they're still almost as good as new, although I did have to replace one or two when I discovered that welding in the shed wasn't a good idea....they melt rather than burst into flames, but I lifted the affected ones immediately to check the wooden floor. A few hadn't even had time to make it all the way through which shows how quickly I moved....

You have a store on your doorstep, so you'd only need to buy a single pack, whereas online min order it is two packs. [I defy you to visit that place without spending more than you intend - I go there when visiting my Brother & his wife in Dechmont, and I fall for it every time . Having said that their muffins, meat, fish, cheeses, etc ...in fact almost everything is very good.

One caveat with the with tiles - I fitted them pretty close to the edges of the floor and if we get a hot spell they can expand a bit and rise in places - not enough to be a trip hazard and only if the heat lasts for a few days in succession [as if.....], but it can happen and is something to watch for, although I imagine your ones will be more stable.

I’ve never been to Costco yet, I’ve obviously been missing out. But yes, they definitely seem the same as those, and were an impulse buy from a shop called The Range.

I had some ‘no more nails’ left over from when I sorted the utility cupboard, so stuck the tiles down. I’ve found that the little hut doesn’t get too hot in summer, due to the silver bubble wrap insulation, so hopefully all will be well. Either way, I’m sure I’ll cope.

No problem, I’ve alway found that trying to fit everything into visits turns them from fun to a chore, so alway do my best to concentrate on the necessary ones. But if time and health allows, feel free to pop round.

Made practice understanding what's going on with my welder
Can't really understand if what's happening is a good thing or not
Essentially if I dial the amperage ok it change but seems to be hotter than what is supposed to be
In the picture there are three little beads
Left to right we have
2.5mm 6013 40A
2.5mm 7018 60A
3.2mm 6010 90A
Got slag peeling on all three and I know that this is strange also because my welder isn't ment to use E6010 and now it's welding perfectly with.
It's working strange since a week ago when I build a wedge dog to deal with sheet metal distortion
I never change the amperage , always keep it at 90 to 100A because it's extremely tedious to dial (small knob big reference scale and 0 to 250A current )
Noticed that 100A was too hot even on 8mm plate with 2.5mm 7018
And yesterday I've practically gouge/cut through 4mm flat stock using 90A
Made a thread about but I can't figure out what's going with my cheap but kind of lovely inverter

I was at a park today & the path around a kids play area was laid with what looked like bark but it was some kind of recycled rubber stuff. Whatever it was it had to be quite thick as it felt like you were walking over a really deep pile carpet! Might go back & 'liberate' some of it tomorrow for my workshop.

A good thing to go in front of lathes is rubber cow mats. They are 1" thick, vary in size but 6' x 4' is a common size. Expensive new but you can get them second hand for under £20 each.
