Today thanks to a nice guy from retrorides we had a drive out and picked up some free VW parts, empi exhaust,1600 tp heads, wheels ,suspension parts and a load of bits for beetles, Then the guy asked if i wanted an SIP 160a arc welder, so i was very happy with it all and the welder has been donated to a local lad who was happy to have it.

After months of searching I finally got the right pulley for my Wolesley WDII Wolesley decided not to use the common slide onto the shaft type, they had one that bolted to the flywheel and whenever they appeared for sale they always went for silly money due to the rarity. I asked a chap who deals a lot in the stationary engine world to keep a look out for one, he said "I've got 3 in the garage" and sold me one for a sensible price.

I've nearly got all the bits for the new jukebox. This is the second one I've built, the missus wants spotify on the one in the house. So I shall build another one up, this time with an rPi4, get it working with Rasp Spotify then swap it with the one in the house. I will then rebuild that one as it has some crud on it from when I first built it, and use it in the workshop.

rPi4 have micro HDMI connectors, while the older ones are full size. I ordered the mini-HDMI converter for my KVM switch in the workshop by mistake, I'll wait for the right one to arrive before starting the build.

I've found mini hdmi adapters a bit big as the main hdmi port is the one next to power connector so I've been using mini to full size leads

How do you find the hifiberry? I'm still debating getting one, I dont need high end sound but would like to move my dac from usb to gpio

Druggies paradise. I also wondered what the canisters were,having started to seeing them littering the countryside more often. Apparently Nitrous oxide, aka Hippy Crack.

We see a lot of those around a local car park and little empty bags of "medical supplies" i don't mind if they want to kill a few more of their limited brain cells but dogs are at risk if they snort or eat some cast off stuff.

Yeah it seems a very pointless thing to do, apparently the ‘rush’ is a period of nothing which you snap out of in about ten seconds or so. Loads of balloons there too which they fill from the canisters.

I did a vid a few years back to show how easy they were to use.

It's easy but as for all the quick change systems you need to put it the right way
I have metabo grinders and all them have metabo M-Quick nuts
Essentially is a normal nut but without holes for the pin spanner .
Those nuts have a cavity where is fitted a spring loaded "plunger" with two detents
Those detents fit on the spindle
The "plunger" is 20 or 22mm diameter so it will never being in contact with the wheel
The nut itself touches the wheel only on a small surface so isn't required a gorilla to unlock it .
Theoricaly you should use the spindle lock
So shut off the grinder and press the spindle lock button while the wheel is still moving
I do that only using cutting wheels .
With all the other grinders an grinding, flap wheels...
I use to shut off the grinder, wait for stopping the wheel , spindle lock and a good open hand hit on the edge of the wheel , obviously using gloves
90% of the time it works , when it won't hammer

Some years ago we took the rescue ambulance to the Isle of Man for the Manx rally, we were warned someone was breaking into ambulances to steal entenox cylinders so we had to take them into the hotel overnight.

My obsession with hose clips seems to be continuing ...made in England and £15 delivered....how could I possibly resist.

The older clips really have a nice weight to them and a good thick band unlike the cheaper junk ones....very happy indeed. 5 boxes of 10...50 clips for £15...absolute bargain.

Might sound a bit weird....but they even have that nice vintage smell to them too....I need professional help I think!

Sounds like you may be a candidate to get yourself or make a "Clamptite" hose clamp tool. It uses wire to make custom hose clamps to accommodate just about any size required; often used in airplane applications.

^^^ never heard of that ....I'll do some looking up. Although I really dislike wire hose clamps as they cut the pipes eventually.

Nissan Figaro was all wire clamps...after 30 years the hoses were all trashed.

They're really easy to make if you've got a lathe and are very very useful. I've got two, one of which lives permanently in my motorbike (along with some steel wire) and one lives in the workshop. This is the one from the workshop:

Construction is fairly obvious, but here's a couple more photos in case they're of help to anyone wanting to make them (threaded rod is M6; the brass handle could be replaced with a nut and a spanner if you're feeling lazy).
