Always had a soft spot for catapults.

Never shot much beyond air rifes and the occasional small bore
Did plenty of damage with these beasties over the years though

I've not to much experience with catapult's but I've shot some 12 gauge cartridge, air rifles and a ton of Airsoft BB's
Repeat it's funny but only at the range

when i was young the soft spot i had for catapults was my head, I must have been target practice we used to look in the skips and bins at the Barnetts factory in Wolverhampton by Ettingshall .. just a bike ride out ended in carnage using peanuts and grapes

I made one for my pal for 'scaring' cormorants which were stealing fish from his angling Club's stocked lake. It was decent but two days after he got it....not a cormorant to be seen, go figure as they say.

I wanted one for myself but was too busy to be bothered making one, so for all they cost I ordered one ex eBlag. Never arrived but got a full refund without question - I'm still devoid of catapult, but one day soon I'll fire up the mig. :laughing:

me and my best mate (now long dead

) invented the "cataplank" :
a 4ft piece of 3x2, and about 40 elastic bands, doubled up and doubled again, fastened to one end.
basically like a speargun.

it could launch a golf ball the length of a rugby field or
an arrow.
or an m12 nut.
or a handfull of m6 nuts (shotgun style).

it was *lethal*

Until few years ago wasn't avoid to detent fireworks at home in Italy , small stuff nothing too big
A friend of mine tried to break a rock with a firecracker ,he miserably failed
I tried to explain why ,he got upset and said me "you can't do better than me"
Drilled a hole in the rock put the firecracker in the hole , ignition, put a water bag on the firecracker before it blown up ,the rock turned into gravel .
I almost regret to did not put also little bit of ....
Soo may be is better don't tell what I did not put in the hole...

They probably won't
But if the cordless tools are old you can ask someone to 3D print an adapter and use those batteries
But before spending money you should try to run the tool using a Jumper cable

They probably will with messing about but I'm pretty sure most of the parkside stuff uses the draper storm bodies and batteries.

I like your catty's . I had one of the Milibro ( SP? ) die cast aluminium " Y "shaped ones as a 14 yr old, with the black square elastic .

I could throw a 1 inch steel ball bearing further and a lot more accurately .

Mine don't appear to have the same dangerous in synchronisation or a harmonic of 50 Hz flicker associated with being on the same phase . Some of the early LED strips did flicker a bit but now the DC drivers are much better

As well as having three five foot long LED strips in a clear cases instead of a diffused light . I also have 10 watt LED mini floods above & around all my machines .

But whenever I do a gear train change to alter the lathe speed I always turn the lathe on & the lights on , then stand back to see that I can observe the lathe is turning … same with drill press speed changes .

Still have mine, its a longtime since its seen any action. I bought a Barnet slingshot when I was about 14, didnt touch the Milbro after that. And my thumb was very happy
