I feel better now. My new chuck is 14" so not much different.
I have to confess I already have a 14" 4 jaw L1 chuck but L1 so rare I just HAD to get it

I have an old startrite vertical saw. Love it.
Might be able to offer some advice I suppose they all fairly similar.

Picked this little beauty up today.
I bought it as two lads I went to school with run fleets of walking floor trailers and keep asking me when I am set up to take on their repairs.
I have not used it for aluminium yet but I believe it is something else. I had a play on carbon though and it Weld’s really nicely, especially in pulse mode
I also bought the old Camarc 500 amp MIG set as in the picture with the munching jaws the other week and this one Weld’s superbly. It came with a reel of 1.4mm wire which will be getting used in the next week or so on a cutting edge I need to replace

After seeing Kim’s review and being in need of a saw I ordered a FEMI NG120XL from a French supplier a week or so back. Ordered and paid for on the Saturday, Monday I get one of their marketing emails saying they were now on offer for 49 euros less but there was no stock. I fired off an email saying that was bit unfair, a woman calls me shortly after saying they don’t know what I’m complaining about, so I tell her I’ve just ordered one so she agrees to give me a credit note for 49 euros, so I’m happy enough.
Today DPD roll up with this:
Mmm, I think, wrong one, didn’t order a 105 but the box is also marked NG120 but what’s inside? I open it up to find it’s the NG120XL ABS - the automatic version of what I ordered and about 100 euros more. I email them again to be told by the nice young lady that it’s the right model as far as their concerned, so bit of a result!

Will have a proper look tomorrow - lighting in my workshop is one 100w lamp and one socket, hopefully soon to be addressed if the sparky turns up.

I went a bit mad in Dixon's at Manchester Airport terminal 2 last week and bought some Sennheiser Momentum 3 over ear wireless headphones before boarding the flight to the US. They were 30 quid cheaper than the Amazon price, but still dear, however I commute a lot and my in-ear headphones were annoying me. They also come with a lead so you can use them on aircraft.
So far, worth every penny. I did have some wired Bose QuietComfort IIs at one point, the noise cancelling was good but the sound was pants and the build quality/design appalling, dropped to bits a week after the warranty expired.
No complaints on the noise cancelling on the Sennheiser, some say the Sony/Bose are better in this respect but the sound is cracking and the Bluetooth/NFC pairing works straight away. Well comfortable too and well engineered. Microphone for phone calls works well, battery seems to last well long enough. Altogether by far the best I've tried yet.

£5000 for a container shipping your flights accommodation internal travel, loading and shipping containers to and from ports both ends and praying the stuff survives....
Im guessing £40 k plus import duties for machines that aint as great as the yanks think and not a patch on dsg, lang, swift etc would make you a bigger nut thsn I first thought!

I've had some Senheiser HD2 headphones for well over a decade, I've replaced the pads due to wear and the lead by choice for a longer copper one.
Wouldn't consider any other make for headphones
