Just had 2 email reminders for next weekend’s outings.

Friday night’s is a talk about stargazing at the Tan Hill Inn, and hopefully a spot of practice afterwards, weather permitting. And Saturday night’s is a talk about the Northern Lights at the North Pennines Observatory at Allenheads. Tan Hill, straddling the high Pennine Way between the Yorkhire Dales and the North Pennines, overlooking Bowes Moor and the trans-Pennine A66, is a great spot for stargazing, the only light pollution being from the east over Teesside way, and Allenheads is stunning all round, dark and isolated, a few miles north of the road to Alston in Upper Weardale.

Fingers crossed for clear skies both nights, but even if not, am looking forward to the pair of them.

A66 one of my favorite roads in the UK and the whole tan hill region good luck with the weather,sounds great nights.

Thanks to a good member here I have a few more toys to help MIS In a shed.
Plus I was given an old note pad.



Small note pad, running Win XP. I had to use a spare PSU and an adapter to get it to boot.
There is no past user details on it. A few useful programmes and some classic Window games.



2 shooting sticks and a walking stick.



A Garden hand pump, what doesn't. Fun ahead for some friends.

Mine took two 0.5mm thick washers under the "vice" mount to bring the cut square vertically.

Spending an all-expenses paid weekend in Braintree () before loading for the Isle of Wight on Monday, which gives me the opportunity to get the tv/dvd wired in to the truck. Sadly, I hadn’t got the right gear, but thanks to a very nice postman who pointed me in the direction of an equally nice electrical wholesalers:

A Nearly new Lenovo Lap top.


That's all it does. There are other bits in the case. Something I am currently working on. A software rebuild.



A Multi Tool and a hand held Steamer.

The multi tool is the best of the 3 items.
It works.
The steamer does work, but it is disappointing.

Where to start?!?

Saturday I took a trip over to collect “that thing” from @roofman, and came away with a lot more than intended..

A corner horse feed/drink trough. Shall be repurposed as a planter or something Lovely cast item, still rings too so no cracks


A vintage petrol can, to be used for, err, petrol?


An RPM Gauge, shall end up on one of the lathes, maybe pillar drill or something. I’ll have to find more information about it first.


And finally “that thing”, the motor cover for the Alba Shaper I acquired around 6 months ago.


All in all, an excellent trip, spent a few hours gassing about this that and the other. Thoroughly fantastic bloke who knows his stuff with a brilliant workshop too

i had that exact "dremel thing".
first time i used it, it seized and i ended up laid out on the shed floor. still not sure how.

Screwfix was were mine came from.
Still working and have had no issues.

Yesterday from the shop of “swings and round abouts”. A while back I resurfaced a distant mates front discs (I needed something to practice on being first time grinding) they came out really good I didn't charge him as I gained experience grinding. Yesterday morning the same guy came by the workshop and my first thought was oh no its Saturday, my time go away I don't want to be disturbed. Any way to cut a long story short, after chatting for about an hour and a half and several coffees he said, he’s been clearing his dads shed out, “his dads passed away” and there are a few things I may be able to use, we get the stuff in the shop, now im feeling pretty bad for thinking go away its Saturday. He would take nothing for the stuff although I did manage to get him to take something for the fuel.

Any way I am so privileged to have my dad and mum still with me. Ive felt pretty guilty all weekend.

Thats it got it off my chest. My weekend changed as I did have couple projects to do but ended up cleaning some of the stuff the guy dropped off.



Here some pics I gotta figure out what chesterman thing does and if I need it, the long calipers might be useful vices are always handy, a handy 1 gallon jug and old weed sprayer thingy and an old union hand drill (ornament) . Its been a good weekend although I still feel a bit guilty for my thoughts.
