I also swop tools, sell tools and always end up with more.

Yep, that's about as far as I've got with my thinking too. I just wondered if they were often sold for a specific purpose, eg weedkiller, pesticide etc etc. I've got a house to clear and a load of rubbish to get rid of, and just wondered if I should work out what might be in this before I binned it.

I use mine to spray solvents for cleaning.

You can get them for under £5, may be £8 if it ha the box and spares.

But I have seen them in "antique shops" for anything over £20.

open it up and have a sniff just hope its not cyanide get a bottle of poppers = amyl nitrate to sniff if it is to bring you back round

Haha, that's the first thing I did. It does have a smell to it, but not one I recognise. A lot of the stuff I'm clearing hasn't been touched for 50 years, so it's probably past its best. As the aarkvark says, it's worth nothing, so it's only heading for the bin.
