I made one of these:
I think it's to bolt a roller to a boat trailer, not sure to be honest. The welds on two sides not pictured are better than that one, honest.
The other side I cocked right up and blew a massive hole in the box section, bad torch angle and lack of practice mainly, I got through 8 tungstens. 
Possibly too hot too, it was 60 amps if you can trust the dial on the machine, 1.5mm box onto 3mm plate.

They normally like to pepper everything with draining/venting holes and stiff you a quid a pop for the privilege

I got the welded box frame base for the first run of cabinets finished including the late requirement for drawers in the base. Here it is with the 5 ply carcasses placed on top. First job was to make sure the frame was in the right place before levelling up as the floor is flagged and even a small movement of the frame can throw it off level.
Once it was in the right place and level I made a few brackets to hold the frame in position and screwed them to the wall then dropped the cabinets back on. Now fit the packers between the carcasses as this is a face frame kitchen and the rails are 45mm wide. Add the strengtheners for the drawer face frame stile and that was it until next weekend, not bad for half a day and a couple of hours yesterday, we were away visiting relatives the rest of the weekend.
Old worktop plonked back on for now. Next bits are more interesting, fitting the face frame and drawer fronts for the base drawers plus making dovetailed drawers.

Well they do like to pop holes in everything they touch insted of looking for the very carefuly planned hidden vent holes...the posts have 6 x10mm vent holes in tem thats about twice as many as they need..yet i bet they still put a couple more in!
But a few holes i can live with
Its when they stack the dog kennel pannels up like a paddy on promise then proceide to strap them as tight as humany possible bending the bejesus out of the mesh and often the frames..i charge a pretty penny for custome built heavy duty kennels..to see them bent thru lack of care is well careless!

@brewdexta I like the progress but keep thinking that the kick space draws been off set from the line of the carcases would drive me up the wall.

If the missus had mentioned it before I made the frame then I would have lined them up and had 5 instead of 4 drawers. However when the drawer fronts are on and covered with American black walnut veneer I hope the transition won't be as noticable. The other way is to put one board across all four drawers so they all open together, I'm mulling it over while I'm down in the smoke.

Just had a chat with the missus, plan is to have two drawers sharing one front and to separate the two drawer fronts with a bit of solid American walnut, make a feature out of it, same feature at each end of the plinth and as it goes around the corner. The bit of walnut will sit proud of the baseboard by about 6mm, this will hide any mismatch between the two drawer fronts and will make the base look like a feature rather than four misaligned drawers.

This is the primer , after another hand of rust protection primer (cast iron housing not alluminum) I will paint it in "Pullman blue" or mostly known as "sky blue"

Are names used here in Italy I don't know if is the same denomination as yours but is a colour similar to the NEW HOLLAND blue

Got this Cross Pein Sledge hammer the other day.
So It was cleaned up by members of MIS.
Lessons on Power tools, hand tools and sealing fresh metal.
I fitted a new shaft today.
It has a few years under it's belt.
Under the year stamp is BR(W)

Today I got back to the 16mm thick stainless discs I had cut and bored the other week.
I cut a couple of bits of 50mm dia 316 on the bandsaw, faced and chamfered them in the lathe and then welded them into the stainless discs.
As is always the case the welding rod ran out just before the weld was completed

Then both into the lathe and the OD turned to suit the pipe and then a step turned to insert into the pipe.
After they were done I tapped them into the pipe, (8" Sch10 nominal bore.) and welded them up.
Roller complete.
Next up I had to make a split nylon bush, 4" Od and 3" ID, it was used to centralise a prop shaft in a packing gland so that the correct alignment of a bearing housing could be done.
Then onto the computer to draw up some bits and pieces and produce the code for the plasma.
Two sheets of 5mm Alu chopped up into smaller bits
Deck hatch surround and new cabinet for my lathes control.
Also had to cut the bits to make two liferaft boxes. I had made two for these boats last year but new regulations mean bigger liferafts are required so of course new boxes are needed.
It was getting on so I decided rather than start welding up the liferaft boxes I might as well do some welding for myself so I tacked up the housing.
