The price tag is missing from the box but it would have come from Buck & Ryan on Tottenham Court Road which was a short walk from the Brunswick Centre where I was working in the early 90's.
IIRC I bought it to identify valve shims when I rebuilt the ZX1100, it remained mostly unused until recently when someone sold me a lathe.

A german Storm Lantern.
Easy to strip down, Hot citric acid bath.

Replacement wick, again new old stock. Then dipped into plating tank, it looks good.
This is the biggest item I have pated. I wanted to see if the finish will last and that I got the method right.

I now have a veritable embarrassment of clean space for projects .

All being well, tomorrow will see the ghastly red tool holder removed and replaced with a bespoke wooden one, and the benches topped with hardboard. Then it’s roll on the weekend, Weardale Agricultural Show on Saturday followed by Wolsingham Show on Sunday, and OH says I can have a dirty burger and an ice cream, and have one whole pound to spend .

Was showing little grandson how people drilled with no electrical power. My dad had one of these , wife's dad in his late eighties still has one ( everyone's dad had one)

Here's the problem TYA ; no springs and they are too large to screw down fully.

And , he broke my drill bit , the little... : )

OOOPS.

You have lost the 3 compression springs.

Oh dear.

They can be found on line, difficult.
You can buy a selection box of springs, waste full.

They weren't in there TYA , when I place the jaws in any idea why it won't screw down all the way ?

Nice find.

Looks to be in good condition.

You may find the 2 jaws to be soft metal and may have a few burrs. They will dress out and you will have a nice bit of kit.
