Made some blast gates for the dust collection system

I'd be very interested to know if those gates work well, we need to set up the extractor at our Men's shed & we are debating whether to buy or make our own blast gates.

BTW, what's the long brown thing sitting on the bench in the middle pic?

I can't promise a speedy response to that since I don't know when I will actually get to try them out, but it's a common design online, they feel good at least. The thing in the middle picture is the router circle jig I used to make all the holes.

3D printed a Derringer replica to allow me to make a garter holster for a customer. This will be the second garter holster I’ve made.

I’ve still to finish building the replica, and do more tidying and a lick of paint, but it’s in a good enough state to make the holster.

One of the best stories/ antidote is from the 1920's.

Got some Aluminium plasma cut this evening then started welding the jigsaw together.

Almost done.

Finished and fitted, was going to paint but not sure if I will bother as it just gets worn off with the swarf anyway.

Sadly, at the moment I do not have a veritable Scooby regarding the details of this gun.

Although I have enough of a working knowledge regarding the other guns I make holsters for, this one is still in the “that is the same shape and size as the one I was shown. Yes that will do me” category.

Yes, I believe it’s a .38, as I remember with the first one, I decided to add a couple of bullet loops. I looked up the bullet size, but thinking it was a one off, I didn’t really absorb much info.

It isn't actually that great if you look closer. As I said a bit out of practice and if you look at the first weld done, arrowed Red in the pic, you will see I was way too hot. (I ground out and redid as can just about be seen in the last pic) Also the weld at the Yellow arrow is slightly too cold but it was good enough so I left.
