Nice looking base!Something for my lathe - all the best toys come in wooden boxes!
I’ve not seen Schramifa before but the quality seems excellent. It locks and magnetises as it should.
Nice looking base!
Not sure about the "made in China" lable though. Hopefully it's the usual Toyota quality and not silverline.....
Silky smooth. It looks like it could do with a clean - Turn a tube to fit against the back of the toothed ring, wind the jaws to about half way and press down on the jaws with it resting in the tube, the ring comes off from the front and then it's all obvious from there. Perfect job for an Arbour press.![]()
Yeah Fizzy, might be interested. I only have a small size Clarkson collet chuck with one tool. I tried to remove it but it seems quite solid.Fantastic bit of kit I have one myself.
If you have trouble with things sticking in the taper let me know I can fix it!

I'd be wary of knocking it from one side like that, it's probably no worse than a drift through the slot in a morse taper spindle but the opposed wedges from the post before guarantee there's no excessive side loading that could potentially bend a spindle.
That's a good tip. I've checked online and no-one seems to have any in stock! You are correct - that is why for the very stuck Clarkson you need to squeeze from both sides but with my newer attachments the gap is too big. It only needs a light tap now.
