As promised an update, i managed to bend only the top half on two edges, which i was very pleased about as this has to be waterproof and the top parts are the most vunreable to a jolly good soaking, as work from home and has to be left outside for now
So im very happy so far however joining the 2mm up to the 2mm aint gonaa be easy, on my attempt it burns right into the steel and maybe do more harm than good????
I have a Kemmpi Automatic Mig Welder and have set it too 2mm steel but im thiking i have to turn the settings down ?
Or if i cant join the two neatly with my kemppi mig welder i will have to use the suggested angle iron to do all the sides, but that bit at the front isnt 45 degress so i guess im asking this:
How do you pros, join up this type of join? 2mm steel up to 2mm steel without it melting and degrading the steel?
You should have set your panels with a 1 to 1.5mm gap between and welded in the gap, also orientate you piece so the weld is horizontal. The weld mid of the front panels looks like you didn't have a steady hand or wandered.
For years people have been designing around bending material over 1.5mm at home over any length as you need a firm upper and lower platten to get a uniform bend over any decent length.
dosnt matter about weedy arms even a girl can bend that if you think about it
you have mass in weight that vice was on floor in that kitchen on red carpet still bent that 3mm stainless steel 304 sheet for 5mm steel vice was in a door way
