Depends on how you define interesting...

It seems the hot water was heated in a cylinder by the range until some point in the 70's (possibly quite late) at which point central heating was fitted with a new fangled combi boiler. House has been empty since the 80's so the combi is still there

Ah, natural gas heating.... I was expecting something like an old Ideal or Beeston domestic boiler that would have been run on coke

I follow a guy on YouTube, stoker don is his channel, he rebuilds and plays about with automatically stoked coal boilers

I was surprised at the jump in tech, I suppose the owner was happy with coal fires and even a 60's gas fire (Canon Misermatic) when heating was new, but once the cylinder failed they went straight to a "modern" system

I worked in a house in the same area and the builders uncovered a flue and concrete pad that would have been for an Ideal solid fuel but sadly this was scrapped long ago

Got the bath taps back today, all cleaned up with the seats recut and new washers

I like how they look, without them looking too new

Yes, all the old ones are. I will see if the original Male fittings are still on site

Bit of modern stuff as well, new boiler started

Bit of a faff with the position

Decided to get the basin taps done as well, and we now know how to fit a round peg in a square hole

I've asked him to leave the lead and paste intact

The last cast iron cistern i had to buy for a job cost hundreds, If you purchased 2 of them you must have been feeling flush

£40 complete with the original bell flush mechanism, the enamel one is a bit newer and not my decision, i'd have got another cast one

if i do remember correctley that tank was within public toilets

it has a universal toilet flush by turning the top around and worked by water diplacement as you pulled the handle simple idea but did work well

We were offered some pans as well and they had a very public convenience look to them

My old house had 2 cast iron cisterns both from commercial places, The flush was amazing so i had a sign up saying "Always close the lid before flushing"
