Bit drastic just to treat an abscess. You have my sympathy

It started as a sore lump in cheek. In under 8 hours my face was do swollen my eyes had closed.
Had IV drugs and a hole punched into jaw to drain the infection. 12 stiched.

Then Sunday my eye was oozing. Hence the pin cushion.
They can't pull the tooth, as it exploded.
So they have to control the infection. Then pull the tooth under general.

Oh I am so looking forward to that.

You'll not know a thing about it, you'll be asleep. And it'll not be as bad as you fear - I had a general while they removed three teeth to get access when they chopped tori from my jaw. I don't recall the recovery as being particularly traumatic.

Picked up from a place near us that is like a permanent overpriced indoor carboot mostly selling absolute garbage from the 80s. Occasionally there is something worth picking up, got these for a fiver. Gave the jaw a dip in the citric acid bath I had going, wasn't a big enough tub to do the main body so that will have to wait.

I was driving as they all started ending. They had a few items I wanted.
Managed to get a bid on this one though.
Shouldn't be too hard to get it going
First job is the siezed bolts holding it to the table.

Skil 77hd worm drive saw. Paid sensible money via eBay global seller program. Came with a new blade. It's a wonderful saw, provided you aren't a safety Nazi, and are right handed. The gearbox and motor are so quiet.

Here's some photos and measurements of a Skillsaw guide, in case you can't acquire one or decide to make your own. The standard size is 12" long and made from 1/8" thick by 9/16" wide bar stock. The cross piece is 3/4" wide by 3 7/8" long with two holes for attaching a longer guide bar if desired. Hope this helps.

...(after 3 years of rolling my van and OH’s car forward by all of 3 feet to open the up and over door, and almost blocking the footpath in the process), a pedestrian door in my man-cave. Just spoke to OH who says the builder has done a grand job, especially cutting out for the bottom of the new doorway, which I reckon started life as a stone wall and is well over a foot thick!

No more messing about moving vehicles when I get home on a Friday night/Saturday dinner, now I can go straight out of the kitchen door and into the workshop to practice my manly pursuits. And as a bonus, my wazzock of a neighbour will have no idea I’m in there. I swear blind he listens for the up and over door opening so he can attempt to borrow something/ask me if I wouldn’t mind fetching a bed that he’s bought from somewhere in Newcastle/tell me all about his latest “girlfriend” that he’s met via the internet/show me the latest litter of kittens his cat has had/talk to me in an unintelligible northeastern accent, etc, etc.

I predict workshop based bliss from now on

It's real bliss when you have a remote electric insulated roller door . It keeps you warmer in winter & ain't so easy to lift up if you remove the manual device . ( I've had one for five years .. absolute bliss Key fob remote open from inside the house and push button control closing on the control box in the garage .

Remote electric door, how very ”twentytenties”, or whatever this decade is called . No, as the garage is now a workshop, the original up and over door is now firmly secured from inside and covered with insulating foil, the handle is off and the God awfully flimsy latching mechanism is disconnected and cable tied to the door track, to be replaced when I finally convince OH to sell up and head north. About 9 hours’ sailing north of Aberdeen, to be exact.

And today, courtesy of rummaging in a skip at a construction site near Coventry airport, I acquired a trio of new 5 ton ratchets c/w long straps. The site lads took them out of the box but they couldn’t figure out how to work them so they skipped them . Also in the skip were a dozen brand new long series sds masonry drills, along with a pair of 3 ton 6 metre webbing slings, still in their packaging. It really is shocking to see such waste, and while individually they don’t cost much, relatively speaking, a lot of not muches soon add up.

Now at said customers’ premises near Wembley Stadium awaiting unloading on the morrow, and I have my eye on some choice looking lengths of 50x50 box section that might just form the basis of a new bench in my workshop, if my scrounging talents are up to the job .

A mitsibushi L200, 2006, spares or repairs due to EML coming on, so far really pleased but the eml hasnt shown up yet so going to get on with service and go over to see anything comes to light.

I could be wrong but I thought it was a boat builders dunt hammer used when making clinker built boats . They come as pairs usually . One is used inside the boat the other on the outside to swage the copper rivets tight .
Dunt .. Scottish ship yard terms for a heavy hammer or blow as in " He needs a good dunt between the eyes to sort him out ".

I say that because of the elongated head faces allows you to work the curvature of the sides without damaging the wood work . One hand on the shaft the other on the free face to hold it on the rivet head as an anvil when it's struck from the other side of the wood .

A farriers hammer looks like a clawhammer but the claw has a steeper slope, and the hammer is a little smaller.
