We still have sets from the 70's,80's and 00's.

We hold drink driving nights.
We set up a course, the drivers pick their cars and drinks. Then race.

Safe fun.

I had no idea until recently that Scalextric is still going and making sets, But beware racing Scalextric after you have had a drink, You could end up getting points of your Hornby license

They might have been at some point but i think the last time i dealt with them they were a hornby product, Hard to say these days with all the selling of names.

Had Some storage boxes turn up this week so i started clearing all the cardboard boxes and plastic bags from the old cars, I separated the tat from the useable and nice bits but i found an old Barnacle tax disc holder for a Ford dealership in Blackburn, Maybe around late 50's early 60's.

Up early today. Needed to get a few things done before Mrs. TYA was awake.

Job1.
Make coffee, no. The milk has curdled, les than 14hours old. So back to Tesco. They were very good and swooped it out, without any problems.

Job2. Go home. decided to cut through the estate. On the way home there is a house being cleared. I lent a hand to shift a cooker into a trailer. Good deed done.

Job 3. have coffee with the family clearing granddads house. I see in the skip this.



A very fine tip soldering iron. I asked if I could "Liberate" it and was told yes.

Next to the skip was this.



This has been liberated as well.

Job 4. Go home.

job 5. Get home, make coffee. realise I left new milk on edge of skip.

Job 6. drive to Tesco, get more milk.

I just stuck a little digital volt meter in the dash for mine.

I've got a volt meter, just figured a quick press of a switch will let me check either battery, depending on isolator position

Also had most of a sheet of 20mm ply and 8 1 metre squares of checkerplate. Now I've got to get most of them out of the van so I can go help a friend clear out her Dads tool shed..

A few weeks ago I acquired some old carving chisels, old but good steel.
I mentioned to a friend how I wished I had a full set.

That friend has just left, he also just left me a small gift.

I bought a 'box of contents' at an auction which contained 4 M16 feet like yours. Paid for the box but when I collected it there were only 3 feet in it. There were other boxes beside it & some tea leaf must have slipped it into their box. Complained to the auctioneer but their policy is 'look after it as you buy it'. I think I paid less than £10 for the box so they were cheap but 4 feet are much more useful than 3!

if not, i got a load from the bottom of some shower trays i bought by accident.(don't ask!)
it might take me months to find them, but youre welcome to sone if i find them.m12 i think.
You might be better placed to obtain some next time youre doing a bathroom?

Thanks for the offer. Il make some up worst case. Lathe is about half a tonne so the 16s would suit better.
Thought I'd ask as there were only 3 in the set

That gels with what I expected to hear actually.
Looks identical to my fathers old iron I learnt to solder with years ago.

Collected a nice period looking trolley today for one of my engines to sit on for about half the going rate just got to find some suitably rustic looking coach bolts to re-fit the axles.

I’ve got some square head coach screws I salvaged from an old Victorian rail line line in London. It was going to get ripped up for Crossrail in 2010. I’ll measure up for you if your interested
